TAMPA, FLA. -- The Sunshine State is home to some of the vainest people in the U.S. according to a new list published this week.
Men's Health magazine ranked the top 100 U.S. cities in terms of what lengths residents will go to in order to look more attractive.
Tampa came in at the top of the list. Other Florida cities included Miami at No. 8, St. Petersburg, at No. 11 and Orlando at No. 16. Jacksonville made the list at No. 28.
The list took into account the number of cosmetic procedures, botox injections, dye jobs reported by local salons and the purchases of products meant to make someone look younger.
Men's Health also tallied up the sales of at-home hair dye kits, tooth whitening products, and shapewear. And the list didn't stop there.
They also used per-capita rates of cosmetic dentists, plastic surgeons and tanning salons. Finally, the list counted the number of check-ins at salons recorded by Foursquare.
