ORLANDO, FLA. -- SeaWorld Orlando designers and marketing execs revealed more details of the park's 2013 new attraction and its largest-ever expansion, Antarctica - Empire of the Penguin.
The new glimpses of the attraction were revealed at Pow Wow in Los Angeles, a major trade show.
According to SeaWorld Orlando, the attraction will include a first-of-its-kind family adventure ride that utilizes new technology for an experience that can change from visit to visit.
Designers also revealed that guests will be able to choose the level of thrill they experience on the ride. Each car seats eight guests.
SeaWorld said the attraction will get the adventure park's guests closer than ever ... and out among ... its colony of penguins.
How close has yet to be detailed, but designers say they consider the guest encounters with the penguins to be the first of their kind in any theme park or zoo in the world.
Antarctica-Empire of the Penguin will also be the coldest theme park attraction in the world, according to SeaWorld officials, who say the penguin habitat must stay in the low 30 degree range for comfort.
The footprint for Antarctica - Empire of the Penguin is the biggest of any expansion at a SeaWorld or Busch Gardens park, according to a SeaWorld release.
Park executives said in a release that they consider the attraction to be more in the character of an all-new "realm," rather than a single attraction.
The full scope includes the ride, penguin habitat, gift shop and restaurant.
