PALM COAST, FLA. -- Authorities say a man who was beating his wife was stopped by his stepson this weekend.
Investigators said the stepson used a novel instrument to make his point -- a 2-foot-long Samurai Sword.
According to an arrest report, Zbigniew Supinski was choking the woman and beating her, even firing on her with a pistol Sunday.
Investigators say the woman's son, Kamil Mezalka, heard the commotion, grabbed up the sword, and charged to his mom's rescue.
They said Mezalka brandished the sword and told Supinski to stop beating the woman.
According to incident accounts, the pistol-packing stepfather, when confronted by the sword-wielding 21-year-old stepson, backed down.
Deputies said Supinski was charged with felony battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
There was no word on whether Mezalka would face any charges, but the prospect seems unlikely given the context of the situation.
