MIAMI BEACH, FLA. -- Authorities in south Florida are searching for a cat burglar who stole thousands of dollars worth of art from a home back in May.

Investigators with the Miami Beach police department say someone broke into Jean Boulton's pink house on La Gorce Island.

Late last week, police released photos of some of the items stolen.  The thief made off with a sliver giraffe and a snail as well as a nautilus shell with precious jewels and silver.  A jewel adorned bowl and soup tureen were among the stolen items.

Several of the pieces were designed by Buccellati.

According to a report, the pieces were valued and insured at $400,000 but were probably worth more.

Authorities are offering a reward up to $25,000 for information in the case.
