TAMPA, FLA. -- Although at a slower rate than recent weeks, the price of gasoline rose again last week.

According to the latest Fuel Price Brief from Tampa-based AAA-South, Floridians are paying an average of $3.65 for a gallon of gas.  That's an increase of 2 cents from the week before.

Nationally, gas prices rose last week by an average of 3 cents to $3.72.

AAA Spokesperson Jessica Brady said Floridians planning to travel before the end of the summer will be effected by the rising price at the pump.

"Last minute summer travelers will need to increase their transportation budget, since gas prices are forecast to rise throughout the month," said Brady. "Motorists have seen gas prices climb since July 1, and are now paying more for a gallon than they did this time last year."

Brady said that tension between the U.S., Iran and Israel continues to put pressure on the market.  Oil prices continue to rise as well.

On Friday, crude oil closed at $96.01 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, an increase of $3.14 from the week before.
