Staying at home does not mean you have to be inside. Unless you have a lot of neighbors or friends with you, the virus we are told, is not spread by the outdoor air. So go out doors and start gardening. And better make this a do-it-yourself or family product.  Below are some things I will be doing.

Turn your attention to the lawn too.  If the lawn is growing it is fertilizer time. Some lawns like zoysia and centipede are slow to begin growth and regreen but St. Augustine and bahia should be ready for a feeding.  By mid to late April all lawns should be ready for fertilizer.  A few other things to do include:

Lastly add new trees, shrubs and ground covers.  Remember Nation Arbor Day arrives the last Friday of April on the 24th.  There is plenty of time to plant any container grow ornamental found at your garden center.

So don't stay indoors during this shutdown.  Get outdoor to have a landscape ready for Spring and Summer.
