There is lots of flowering going on right now depending where you live here in Florida and as I'm sure you have noticed they include lots of shrubs and trees.

The Tabebuia trees have been in bloom for awhile and have very nice pink flowers and they have two blooming times.  Our Pink Tabebuia tree has finished blooming and but our next door neighbor's tree is now in full bloom.  Some of the pink flowering ones have a nice vanilla scent.  There is also a Yellow Tabebuia.  They both are beautiful trees...but when all those flowers begin to fall it can be a little problem.  I guess that is why someone invented the rake.....thank goodness!

Dogwoods are now in full bloom also.  This tree can grow to 25 ft. tall.  Their flowers are bright white with brown shading on their petals.

Another flowering tree is the Redbuds.  They have little pink flowers.  This tree would make a nice accent tree for a small yard.

Next is the Loropetalum which is also a favorite of ours and it's actually a tall evergreen 'shrub'.  Its Flowers appear large from a distance but close up they are very thin....about 2 inches long and appear to have a 'hairy' petal.  They will grow to about 15 ft. tall.  In our yard they are planted to make an arbor situation over a pathway.

Orchid trees are also in bloom now....from a distance they appear to be lavender or pink.  When you look at them closely you will see a very pretty flower and it has heart shaped leaves.

A few white flowering small trees that are in bloom right now are the Native Plum and the Bradford pear.  Oriental Magnolias and the Cherry Laurels are flowering and also the Fringe Tree.

A favorite of ours is the Magnolia tree.  It has beautiful large white flowers and it makes a very nice shade tree for anyone's yard.

Beautiful Azaleas are in bloom now and they are always a nice addition to anyone's yard.

Finally......one of my absolute favorites is a very beautiful shrub called the Purple Firespike.  This plant can grow to 5 or 6 ft. tall. and as wide. It has many clusters of tiny purple flowers.
