Vince Carter scored 48 points -- three shy of his career high -- as the Orlando Magic rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat the New Orleans Hornets 123-117.
Carter scored 16 points in the third quarter and 18 in the fourth. He was 19 of 27 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds.
"It's a great feeling," Carter said. "When you're playing and you're rolling like that for your team, it is what it is. When they need me to do what I need to do I'm going to do it. Tonight I just put it in the hole."
Carter has scored 68 points in his last two games after making a promise to his teammates that he would be more productive in the month of February.
Dwight Howard added 25 points and 12 boards as the Magic improved to 35-17. Orlando has won nine of 11.
The Magic, playing four games in five days, will visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday before the NBA All-Star break.
