TALLAHASSEE, FLA. -- The Florida Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by an inmate scheduled for execution next week.
Martin Grossman was just 19 years old when he was sent to death row. He was convicted in 1985 of murdering Wildlife Officer Margaret Park in Pinellas County. The case has been in and out of court ever since.
This is the third time the state supreme court has considered his appeal. Grossman's lawyer raised a variety of issues, but in a unanimous ruling, the justices said all of the claims have been rejected before and there is no legal reason for the high court to intervene.
The execution by lethal injection is set for next Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Florida State Prison in Starke.
