ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The private plane chartered by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio was forced to make an emergency landing Saturday after a sensor indicated a potential electrical problem.

The freshman Republican was campaigning for G.O.P. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

According to reports, Rubio was on his way from Las Vegas Nev. to Des Moines, Iowa when the technical problem arose.

The plane made the emergency landing around 4 p.m. local time.

Because of the delay, Rubio missed the Des Moines rally.

According to Rubio's twitter feed, this was the second techincal problem with an aircraft for the U.S. Senator.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
