ORLANDO, FLA. -- The Florida League of Women Voters has established a website to make sure that people are informed about voting, on multiple levels.
First and foremost, according to the head of the organization, is making sure voters are properly informed about their own registrations.
Dierdre McNabb says if a person thinks he or she is registered, that' not enough. It's important to be sure of it.
The website is already up and running.
It's called bereadytovote.org.
"It's designed to help people, first of all, to make sure they are registered," she said, "And register if they're not."
McNabb said that, beyond registration, the site is designed to help people be aware of their voting precincts and other critical items of information they'll need as voting day approaches.
The site is designed as a one-stop shop for the person who wants to be fully ready for voting day, and not taken by surprise by anything unexpected.
The Florida League of Women Voters launched the website even as it launched a new registration drive. in the aftermath of a federal judge's ruling.
The judge ruled last week that new time-limits for turning in third-party registrations were unconstitutional, and he returned those times to their previous limits.
