ORLANDO, FLA.   Sheriff's Detectives in Orange County are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide at the Central Florida Research park near the University of Florida.

The office complex is one of the largest in the state, employing some 10,000 people at the sprawling east Orange County campus.

The shooting happened  Monday afternoon, in the parking lot of the AT&T Wireless call center, according to a report from the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses told investigators that a man fired on a woman, then turned the gun on himself.

Investigators said the witnesses claimed the woman had been walking back to the call center when she was confronted by the man.

Authorities said the shooter was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting victim, whom authorities identified as a female employee of the call center, was taken to an area hospital, but died late in the afternoon, officials said.

Sheriff's investigators said the woman had been shot multiple times.

Detectives said the victim knew her assailant, but have not identified the shooter or the victim.
